Patria 66: New Armored Vehicle to Replace Fuchs and M113

CAVS Program Officially Signed

The technical arrangement for the Common Armored Vehicle System (CAVS) was officially signed on April 17, 2023. This armored vehicle and the Boxer will replace the TPz Fuchs and the M113. The CAVS program was originally established by Finland and Latvia and later joined by Sweden and Germany.

Patria, a Finnish defense contractor, has established a production partnership with Defense Service Logistics (DSL), part of the KNDS Group, and Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft. Andrew Salerno-Garthwaite reported on the progress on April 18, 2023.

The Patria 66 is a protected tactical troop transportation vehicle designed to meet the needs of modern warfare. It is highly mobile and can be equipped with a variety of weapons systems.
